WFEC Board of Trustees Election Update
GRACEVILLE – Ballots were mailed for West Florida Electric Cooperative’s (WFEC) annual trustee election on March 13. Since mailing, it has come to our attention that an ineligible candidate, Danielle Dubin, was mistakenly listed on the District 8 ballot.
Ms. Dubin no longer meets the residency requirements for District 8. WFEC regrets this error and has worked with its Board of Trustees, legal counsel, and the election vendor to determine the appropriate course of action. The election will proceed as scheduled with the following provisions:
• Votes cast for Ms. Dubin will not be counted.
• Members who have already voted and would like to request a replacement ballot may call their local WFEC office to request one be mailed to them from Survey and Ballot Systems, WFEC’s election vendor.
• The District 8 seat will be awarded to the eligible candidate who receives the majority of valid votes.
• If votes cast for Ms. Dubin have an impact on the outcome, a special election will be conducted for District 8.
• This issue does not affect the District 6 election.
To ensure integrity, transparency, and accountability, WFEC partners with a third-party provider, Survey and Ballot Systems (SBS), to conduct its Board of Trustee elections. SBS is a highly regarded and respected company who works with leading associations and cooperatives to manage secure and reliable election processes.
More About WFEC’s Election Process
